ZANU-PF takes cell verification drive to Hwange
4 hrs ago | Views

The ruling ZANU-PF party has intensified its cell verification programme in Hwange District, aiming to strengthen membership and consolidate its grassroots presence. The exercise is being prioritised as a key tool for assessing party growth and engagement across the country.
An inter-district meeting at Hwange Colliery Club brought together party officials, including Politburo members Advocate Jacob Mudenda and Tinomudaishe Machakaire, who stressed the importance of the verification exercise and the central role of young people in the party's development agenda.
"The young people have always been very important to the party and government. We thank them for their support and that is why we always put up empowerment programmes that also benefit them immensely," Advocate Mudenda said.
Machakaire added that Hwange was lagging behind in regularising cell membership and encouraged all key stakeholders to participate. "This is an important exercise which should be done in the district of Hwange. It is an exercise which must include all key stakeholders," he said.
The party's focus on youth empowerment in Matebeleland North has previously seen young people receive trucks to support business ventures, including cattle ranching, following similar programmes launched in the region over the past two years.
Through the cell verification drive, ZANU-PF aims to consolidate its base, boost youth participation, and strengthen its organisational footprint ahead of future political and developmental initiatives.
