A PLUMTREE woman reportedly lost a tooth in a brawl with her knife-wielding husband after she denied him conjugal rights.
The woman, Mercy Sibanda, dragged her husband David Soko to Plumtree courts seeking a protection order.
She told the court that she was living in fear of her husband who allegedly assaulted her whenever he brought his girlfriends to their matrimonial home or when she refuses to share the forbidden fruit with him.
"This man is in the habit of assaulting me in front of children and some¬times he brings his girlfriends home and forces me to sleep in the kitchen," said Sibanda.
The woman poured out her heart before the court saying it was difficult for her to get in between the sheets with the man who mistreated her and assaulted her several times.
She revealed that at one time she lost a tooth after her husband had beaten her up for refusing to let him get in between her legs.
Sibanda also accused her husband of stopping her from looking for a job.
Soko admitted having knocked off his wife's teeth but was quick to defend himself saying he acted in self defence.
He told the court that he head-butted the woman after she had grabbed his genitals following a misunderstanding.
He told the court that he had told the woman on several occasions that she should move out of his house because she was denying him conjugal rights which meant she was no longer his wife.
The man left the court in stitches when he said he formally divorced his wife by giving her a "token" of divorce as he wanted to start a new life.
Magistrate Mr Livared Philemon, who presided over the matter will pass judgment on 25 April.
