A MAN from Bulawayo suspected of using umbobobo allegedly indecently assaulted a woman who was queuing in a shop by rubbing his sexual organ on her buttocks.
Surprisingly, the woman, 21, did not feel anything during the act and she was only tipped off by a shop employee.
Meluleki Moyo, 27, of Morningside suburb, pleaded not guilty to a charge of indecent assault when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Charity Maphosa yesterday.
He was remanded out of custody to April 15 for judgment and sentence.
Prosecuting, Kudakwashe Jaravaza, said on March 17 this year shortly after 5.30PM, the complainant and her sister were standing in a queue at a shop located at corner 6th Avenue and Lobengula Street in Bulawayo's Central Business District.
The court heard that Moyo, who was standing behind the complainant, unzipped his pair of trousers before he pulled out his manhood and rubbed it on the woman's buttocks without her knowledge.
Moyo was spotted by a shop employee who then alerted the complainant.
"When the complainant turned her back, she saw Moyo in the process of zipping his trousers with his organ still protruding. She screamed for help," said Jaravaza.
A security guard, who testified in court, said he initially thought that Moyo had stolen from the woman when she screamed.
"When I heard the woman scream, I immediately rushed to her and took Moyo to a private room to search him because I thought he had stolen something. I searched him and didn't find anything and that's when the woman told me that Moyo had actually indecently assaulted her," said the security guard.
Moyo, in his defence, denied indecently assaulting the complainant, arguing that she was framing him.
"I was standing in the queue intending to buy cotton buds when all of a sudden the complainant screamed and the next thing a security slapped me before he took me to a private room where he stripped me before conducting a search but he didn't find anything. I was shocked when the complainant alleged that I had indecently assaulted her," said Moyo.
