Let's safeguard our people against ebola

08 Aug 2014 at 16:00hrs | Views
The worst outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in history could actually be much worse than the official death toll reflects. Already, the World Health Organization says 887 people have died, but a top doctor working at the heart of the outbreak in West Africa says many cases are going unreported.

We should commend Zimbabwe Government for withdrawing our troops that were deployed in Liberia on  a peacekeeping mission owing to this eminent menace.

The Ministry of Health and Child Welfare is putting frantic effort to ensure that the disease does not spill-over into the country. It is imperative that all stakeholders in the society should work together to defray the negative impact of this deadly disease.  The law enforcement agents are urged to police all entry points into the country effectively to stop any unlawful entries by border jumpers or illegal immigrants are nabbed.

The Ministry of Health and Child Welfare should take stern preventative measures to keep us all safe from this incurable virus threatening to wipe out humanity. Therefore, illegal immigrants are potential conduit pipelines through which the disease can be imported into Zimbabwe. So they should be severely be dealt with. All corrupt government officials facilitating illegal immigrants should be arrested and brought to book.

In case we happen to be the victims of the disease, we should recommend the government to order that corpses are cremated to destroy the virus completely.
