Open letter to the expelled Zapu Bulawayo provincial chairman Ray Ncube

Dear Ncube,

I am keen to know the contents and language you used to write President Dabengwa. If I feel that your letter was an honest effort to rescue our party I may wish to join your ranks.

Another factor is I want to know your age Mr Ncube. If you are over sixty I am of belief that you are too old to start anything new but if you are less than that its another positive thing that attracts me.

The reason why I want to know these things is because I am of belief that Zapu CAN do better than what we have yielded since 2008. I believe the old school have impeded our progress in many ways.

I believe Dr Joshua Nkomo was 40 years old when he successfully led Zapu in 1959.

I believe Dr Dabengwa was 25 years old when he led Zipra in 1964.

I believe if Nkomo had been 70 years old in 1959, Zapu would not have been formed. No salukazi
can start a new party.

I want a Zapu that is run by the young. Kungangcono kwehlukanwe khathesi besekuhlanganwa ngo 2015 sekubonakele ukuthi ngubani okwazi ukuqhuba uhlelo phakathi kwabatsha nabadala.

If you are under 60 Mr Ncube and you are thinking of forming a Zapu party led by the young, am willing to join your rank.

We wont look at badala party as competitor but we will make a Zapu that badala will love and join and mentor to success. Shame I love President Dabengwa but this barring of democratic exercise in the party is a stumbling block to me.

I do not ask but demand democracy. This is exactly what Ralph Mguni did to me. He fears criticism like Robert Mugabe. If we leave Zapu to run outside the constraints of democracy and freedom of opinion, we will arrest Zimbabweans if they criticize us once we are in power like Mugabe.

What does freedom of opinion mean then if Ncube can be expelled for writing a letter?
