Dear Editor
Today I received photos from someone who claims to be a ZIMRA official in Beitbridge, which shows two full truck loads of imported stationery from South Africa in Browns's name, browns is a sister company of Marvo infact its the same people running the two companies.
According to the Zimra officials the trucks have been there for the past two weeks now at the Border yet the government put an import ban on finished goods from out side and thats corruption and is stopping us from recieving our money.
The Zimra employee says he supports us and he is also against corruption. I quote ( varume piwayi mari dzenu tinokusapotayi Pasi ne corruption neniwo khule vangu vakamboshanda ikoko vakafa vasina kupiwa mari yavo. Saka I know the story those guys have money but are not willing to pay back basa kuswera vachita corruption. They are very selfish. Marvo/Browns must just pay you your money no more no less and stop taking advantage yemtemo wenyika usinga protect vashandi).
Marvo Stationery management owes us our money as workers and has since last year completely stopped production at Marvo factory rendering all workers jobless and destitudes preffering instead to import finished goods. These two trucks are not suppose to be a problem to any ordinery worker what has made us to be of interest to the matter is our money there, thier rudeness, and ignorance to our plight.
For years we have been cheated into believing that they are genuinely willing to pay our money but since we realise that its all about corruption we have concluded that we know longer fear and we no longer want corruption. A situation where the Judicial manager told workers that they will only recieve their money when the company reopens, but they continue to bring in finished goods is unacceptable.
