Rainbow 1 - 1 Ajax Hotspurs
It was Ajax Hotspurs versus Blessing the goalkeeper of Rainbow today at Mpopoma High school. The young goalie was simply outstanding and parried everything that Ajax Hotspurs threw at him in search of a winner. At least Sifelani the referee of the day stole the show with a below par performance and could not match up the pace of the game and get hold of this exhilarating encounter.
Nhlanhla Mawie Phiri opened the score sheet for Hotspurs after some wonderful work on the left flank by Chrispen Machisi who made a piece-meal of Leo. The pint sized midfielder whipped in a tantalizing cross that Thulani Thuske Gumede had seemingly fluffed..The ball fell to Mawie invitingly and the inform striker obliged with a well placed shot to give Hotspurs the lead.
Rainbow responded with tricky deliveries from set pieces and Wello's delivery was fumbled by Thabani and the Rainbow striker to poked the loose ball for the equaliser.
The second half saw Ajax Hotspurs camp in the Rainbow half and the hoteliers defended as if their lives depended on this match. Thuske dribbled the entire defense only to agonizingly watch his shot go over the cross bar with the Ajax Hotspurs supporters up their feet.
The probing Hotspurs side continued to ask question on the hoteliers defensive lines with Ashleigh Sancho's rocket header going inches wide. Smart Daudi's swerving free kick hit the left upright with the goalkeeper left standing Akimbo.
Max Mburayi who was out of sorts by his standards had a chance to wrap it up for Ajax at the dearth but slipped at the crucial moment as he shaped up to deliver a killer blow only succeeding in guiding the ball over the cross bar.
