Highlanders gunman Njabulo "Tshiki" Ncube saw red
HIGHLANDERS striker Njabulo "Tshiki" Ncube, who has been criticised for his behaviour which saw him receiving a red card in the Castle Lager premier Soccer League match against Dynamos at Barbourfields Stadium on Sunday, has apologised.
Tshiki has been in good form for Bosso and was expected to play a major role in the top-of-the-table encounter, but was sent for an early shower by referee Thabani Bamala following his feud with Dynamos defender Partson Jaure who had crudely tackled him.
Both players were given their marching orders in the 30th minute.
"I regret the way I reacted when Jaure kicked me. It was a very big mistake to make. I was not happy that he kicked me in the early stages of the game, but the referee did not notice. I think referees should take notice of such events. I let my teammates down," he said.
Interestingly both players scored in the reverse fixture which ended 1-1 at Rufaro Stadium in a match where Jaure escaped expulsion after his kung-fu kick on Highlanders attacking midfielder Milton Ncube.
"We have been training very hard in preparation for our games. I trust my teammates because at Highlanders now no one is guaranteed of starting a match. I believe that the players who will be selected will do the job well.
"I am praying for a good result because any team can go on top of the log table depending on the next results," the former Railstars striker said.
