Bosso coach Kaindu resigns?

SPECULATION is mounting that Highlanders head coach Kelvin Kaindu is on his way out with reports indicating that the Zambian tendered his resignation letter after a spell of poor results, with the latest being a humiliating 3 - 1 home loss at the hands of Castle Larger Premier Soccer League newcomers ZPC Kariba on Sunday, Radio Dialogue reported.
Although the word is out that Kaindu has packed his bags, it seems the Highlanders executive is not yet ready to announce his exit.
It is understood that the Bosso top brass and Kaindu are yet to agree on pending contractual issues, which have to be ironed out before letting him go to avoid a potential buy out clause likely to cost Highlanders thousands of United States dollars.
The executive is believed to be making relentless efforts to avoid a repeat of the embarrassing 2010 saga where sacked coach Mohammed Fathi successfully sued the club for breach of contract and salary arrears and Bosso's team bus was attached in the process.
According to a statement in Highlanders' Facebook page Bosso Live, the executive issued a statement that reads: "The head coach Kevin Kaindu officially tendered his resignation yesterday after being with us for almost 3 years where he twice finished joint top with only the goal difference separating us from eventual winners. The executive has not come up with the final position on replacing him."
Well placed sources in the Bosso top hierarchy also validated the reports though they insist on being anonymous.
Highlanders FC chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede said they are happy with Kaindu and he has not left the team.
"We are proud to have one of the most qualified coaches in the country and I can confirm that Kaindu has not left the club. The long and short of it is that he is still here with us," said Gumede.
With six games left from the finish line, Bosso is number four on the log with 39 points, seven points shy from leaders and defending champions Dynamos.
Bosso is also still in the running for the Chibuku Cup where they are semi finalists.
