Zimbabwe motor racing driver Axcil Jefferies capped off a fine outing at Belgium's Formula 2 Circuit by claiming a top 5 finish.
After qualifying 14th on Saturday, the 18-year old worked his way to 9th position on day one of the formula 2 event.
Despite qualifying 8th, an aggressive display saw the youngest Formula 2 driver excel to 5th position, his highest placing since bursting onto the stage which is one step behind Formula 1.
Jefferies could even have gone on to the podium had Sunday's race not been disrupted by heavy rain which forced organisers to end the race prematurely due to safety concerns.
The encouraging performance by Axcil is expected to boost the morale of the promising motor sport driver, who will be hoping to do even better when he competes in the United Kingdom on the 14th of July.
