FC Platinum favoured by refs?

FC PLATINUM believe they are denied more penalties than they are awarded during matches.
The ambitious club, the only club yet to taste defeat in the 2017 season, and one of the favourites for the title, was defending their position on penalties awarded since the season started.
Club spokesperson Chido Chizondo commented on the five penalties awarded in nine of the matches that FC Platinum have played.
"AS FC Platinum we are naturally an attacking side and it is very unfortunate that people have to look at the number of penalties that we are awarded without looking at the penalty appeals that never come our way.
"In the game against Highlanders, we had three other appeals which were not awarded. If you look at the replay of the one awarded, you will see that it was genuine and the fact that the team gets into the box more often shows you we are not a bad side at all," Chizondo said.
FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza is working with the Warriors ahead of the Liberia tie on June 11.
Mapeza's philosophy is to start play from the back and they continue to pass the ball around in the final third.
Chido added:
"Look at clubs like Barcelona and the way they attack. And then look at how many penalties they get. That they actually get into the box many times shows how good they are.
"You should actually watch FC Platinum to see that we have only been unlucky in front of goal but we create a lot of chances for everyone to see. So we actually feel that there are many penalty appeals that are ignored."
In their season's opener, FC Platinum were awarded a penalty that decided the game against Dynamos. Winston Mhango converted just before half time and the game ended 1-0.
Against Bantu Rovers Rodwell Chinyengetere converted a deciding penalty in the 69th minute to win the game 3-2.
Mhango again converted a penalty in the 80th minute in a game FC Platinum floored Hwange 1-0.
FC Platinum's Chinyengetere went on to miss a penalty awarded in the second half against How Mine in a game that ended goalless.
Mapeza's charges were again awarded a penalty in time added on in their last match and Mhari converted before the match was abandoned as a result of violence.
Those penalties given to FC Platinum this season have assured them of six points in three matches that seemed headed for a draw.
The matches exclude the penalty miss against How Mine and the recent abandoned match at Mandava whose outcome will now be decided by PSL and.
