Izinyokanyoka outplayed the teams that took part in the Easter Holiday football tournament in Rotherham, UK. With their brand of Tiki-taka football, they outshined all the teams. They deserved to be crowned worthy winners after brushing aside Sheffield and Rotherham sides in their final two games.
They were spared from playing Mighty Bossolona of Birmingham who got themselves disqualified on the technicality of late arrival. Still this does not take away their legitimate claim to the throne. The boys in white showed that they are a technically gifted team with tactical awareness and they showed that they were seasoned tournament players. With joint top scorers Ndumiso Nsingo, Tasie Matwasa and Cosmas Matwasa, no side seemed strong enough to parry the firepower from their attackers.
The three Matwasa brothers were a joy to watch especially the cool defender, Decent. Their goalie Nkosinathi Ncube was clearly the best goalkeeper on the day. Captained by Prosper Nyambiya and managed by Innocent Mangumba, this team deserved all the accolades that went their way.
Despite a 4:1 drubbing at the hands of Izinyokanyoka, Sheffield emerged Runners Up and those who were present will confirm that that the score line was unkind to Sheffield who had put up a good fight from start to finish. Former Zimbabwe National Ladies Coach Pardon Nkomo as Tournament Coordinator and 4th Official Bruce Vundla did a sterling job presiding over the tournament proceedings.
