Warriors in first training session, getting ready for COSAFA

THE Zimbabwe senior men national football team, the Warriors conducted their first training session this Tuesday ahead of the COSAFA tournament which gets underway next week in South Africa.

Nineteen players are in camp as the Warriors step up preparations for the COSAFA tournament which kicks off on Wednesday next week in South Africa.

The Warriors had a light training session this Tuesday after going through their Covid-19 tests.

United States based midfielder, Nyasha Dube, defender Jimmy Dzingai who plies his trade in Zambia and South Africa based striker Knox Mtizwa are expected this Thursday.

However defender, Kelvin Moyo who is based in Zambia is doubtful after picking up a muscle injury.

There are also doubts over the availability of Hamburg defensive midfielder, Jonah Fabisch whose Germany club has reservations over the Covid-19 situation in South Africa.

The technical department is, however, confident the available players will deliver saying the

Twenty players will travel for the COSAFA tournament, with five non-travelling players on standby in case of any covid-19 issues.
