Tripple B  0 - 2 Dynamos
FADING champions Dynamos finally got it right  when they overcame Tripple B to win their first Castle Lager Premiership match this season at Mandava Stadium in Zvishavane yesterday.

Former Caps United son Washington Pakamisa drilled the opener in the 19th minute before defender Partson Jaure ended the match as a contest in the 45th minute when his free kick went past goalkeeper Tapuwa Mafunga and his badly organised wall.

Dynamos' first goal came when Tawanda Muparati won possession and sent in a cross which Pakamisa connected with powerful shot to that beat Mafunga.

Two minutes after the opener Ugandan international Boban Zirintusa could have added his name to the score sheet when he unleashed a shot outside the box but Mafunga saved.

The hosts could have found an equaliser in the 33rd minute when former Dynamos player Alick Marime who was troubling the Dynamos defence each time he got possession broke loose and sent a defence splitting pass to Lloyd Chiwaridzo but Dynamos goalkeeper Artwell Mukandi was equal to the task.

Dynamos who had gained composure after some anxious moments from Tripple B's forays saw Patrick Kumbula denied by the crossbar in the 43rd minute.

Captain Murape Murape who played his heart out won possession on the right and flighted a cross and with Tripple B defence static and Khumbula rose to direct the ball towards goal only to see his effort hit the crossbar with Mafunga a mere spectator.

Two minutes after the miss Mafunga then handled an intended back pass from his defender under challenge from Muparati.

The Zvishavane-based referee Rugare Kusosa awarded Dynamos an indirect free kick in the box.

Tripple B organised their wall on the goal line with Mafunga two metres away from the wall. Captain Murape had a touch of the ball before Jaure powered a grounder that went past the wall.

Referee Kusosa failed to stamp his authority when he let Jaure off scot-free when he hit Tripple B's Edmore Chafungamoyo in the 59th minute.

Dynamos had gone for five games without a win drawing all their matches. "It was a hard earned three points having played five games. I had pressure from outside but I told my players to go and attack to get the much needed goals. We played very well and we scored two goals and got maximum points and this has boosted our confidence," said Dynamos coach Callisto Pasuwa.

"We are the champions of Zimbabwe and going five games without a win was a problem as it landed us in trouble with fans and everyone else who loves Dynamos from all the corners of the world," he added.

Tripple B coach Friday Phiri blasted the referee as he felt they were denied a genuine penalty.

"It is very unfortunate that we lost after playing very well. We wanted a third straight win but we failed. Our player was fouled in the box but there was no yellow card from the match official.

He should have actually awarded us a penalty," said Phiri.
