Kaizer Chiefs fans will be breathing a sigh of relief after it was confirmed that striker Knowledge Musona's injury is not serious, Football411.com website reported.
Musona was forced off during the first half of Kaizer Chiefs's CAF Champions League clash with AS Vita on Saturday and there were fears that he had suffered ligament damage to his ankle.
However, scans conducted on Monday have revealed that this is not the case.
"Knowledge has no ligament tear and we will continue to monitor his pain level during the course of the week," Chiefs said in a statement.
Musona is likely to miss what could be a defining week for Kaizer Chiefs in their Absa Premiership title run-in.
The striker is a doubt for tomorrow night's encounter against Golden Arrows and the top-of-the-table clash to follow when they host Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday night.
It's a massive blow for Chiefs after Musona, on loan from Bundesliga club Hoffenheim, had found consistency and become a regular goal-scorer as Kaizer Chiefs look to defend their league title.
In his nine matches for Chiefs, Musona has scored the same number of goals.
