Former Bafana Bafana midfielder John "Shoes" Moshoeu has passed away after a long battle with cancer, Sports 24 reported.
The former Kaizer Chiefs star passed away on Tuesday afternoon.
His agent, Glyn Binkin, confirmed his death on Twitter.
In May 2014, Moshoeu hung up his boots after spending several seasons with third-tier side Alexandra United.
Moshoeu was 49 years old.
