The debt-ridden Zimbabwe Football Association blew half a million dollars in investigating the alleged Asiagate scandal.
ZIFA has a $6 million debt that includes $600 000 owed to former employees whose services were terminated without following proper procedures.
In shocking revelations arising from a debt list compiled by the 11th of April 2014 and in possession of the ZBC News, $554 211 was spent on various expenses and allowances for the committee that ran unfruitful investigations into the Asiagate scandal.
The exercise was, however, in vain as many procedures were not followed.
Most of those fingered have since been pardoned.
The debt list further reveals massive discrepancies of double itemised debts among them that of former Warriors coach Norman Mapeza which is itemised on Note 24 as $245 000 for a legal case concluded but appearing again on Note 84 as $245 000 owed to Mapeza as salary arrears.
A careful look on the debt list shows ZIFA owes its former employees close to a million dollars.
Among the screaming figures are those of former national team coaches Mapeza and Tom Saintfiet.
Just like there is no mention of Brazilian coach Valinhos' debt, there is also no mention of the $67 000 owed to Sunday Chidzambwa.
According to the list, ZIFA says it owes former employee Lazarus Mhurushomana more than $35 000, while more than $150 000 is money involving labour disputes that other former employees have won in court.
A further $209 000 is noted as ZIFA employees salaries arrears for 2013 and 2014 with $48 000 separately noted as salary for ZIFA regional offices.
The debt list also reveals more than $400 000 is money owed to local hotels, the biggest chunk of $232 987.23 being owed to Pandari Lodges.
More than $179 000 is itemised as outstanding allowances debt accrued during the COSAFA women cup hosted in 2011, with the biggest figure on the debtors list owed to Buymore Investments.
Buymore Investments is owned by Cuthbert Dube.
