Sunday World reveals that Seputla, who plays businessman Kenneth Mashaba, has been battling diabetes behind closed doors.

And though we still see him on TV, he quit the show three months ago and has no acting job at present.

The actor, who dabbles as a gospel musician, now relies on royalties from his gigs.

News that diabetes forced the popular actor out of his plum job came amid allegations that he might be returning to the soapie.

Though he did not explain why he left the series, our sources at the SABC's Auckland Park towers cited his flailing health as one of the reasons he quit.

Sunday World has learnt that the actor suffers from Type1 diabetes, which he inherited from his mother, who lost the battle against the illness two years ago.

"He only discovered it early this year when he started losing weight," says our source. "He takes insulin to control it. He will defeat it. He leads a healthy lifestyle.

"I'm just telling you this because some mischievous people are starting to spread rumours about his health."

Sunday World first caught wind of his failing health when our informants spotted him at a party in Midrand, Jozi. They told Sunday World he had lost so much weight he's been reduced to a bag of bones.

Seputla spewed bile when contacted for comment, saying: "I know where that comes from, it came from my previous employment. I confronted people about it there. It is not true".

Sebogodi also poured cold water on allegations that he would return to Generations.

"Nobody spoke to me about going back to Generations. And even if they spoke to me I wouldn't go back there," he said.
