DJ Clock to rock Bulawayo

Just weeks after playing host to leading South African spinners, DJ Cleo and Choice, another spinner, DJ Clock, is expected to perform in the city.
Clock, the Umahamba Yedwa hitmaker is expected to exchange notes with Bulawayo's best spinners at a gig dubbed the Black and Yellow party at the upmarket Horizon Pub and Grill tomorrow evening.
The enterprising spinner-cum-producer is coming to the country courtesy of Horizon and 3D Events Management Company.
He will be backed by the city's own turntable masters Black Cee, Slimzar waAfrica, Kead Wikead, Keezy Deejay and Joe Tha OG.
DJ Clock, born Kholile Elvin Gumede, has become a force to reckon with in South African showbiz, as he has worked with some of the country's premier hit makers that include Shisaboy, Big Nuz, Chynaman, and DJ Cleo.
In an interview, the director of 3D Events Management, Mduduzi Mdlongwa promised fans a top class event at the show which is being sponsored by Delta's Miller brand.
"This is an exclusive show with lots of surprises," he said.
He said the theme of the party was Black and Yellow and he urged fans to come in their best outfits.
Horizon has become the home of top class entertainment as it has played host to some of the finest artistes from in and out of the country.
It has hosted the vivacious South African female DJ Zinhle, classical house duo LiquiDeep, and mbira princess Chiwoniso Maraire, among others.
DJ Clock, who has sent many in clubs and homes into a frenzy with his hit track Ngomso, burst onto the house music scene with his debut album The First Tick.
He based his music on his inspiration from the three South African DJs and producers Glen Lewis, Vinny Da Vinci and DJ Fresh.
He taught himself every studio recipe he knows. After achieving very little at school, he decided to follow up on his studio dream and when he saw the opportunity, he grabbed it and released his 14-track debut album, The First Tick, in 2008. The album showed that DJ Clock has talent.
In the years after DJ Clock released two albums in his Tick-trilogy. For the album The Second Tick (2009) Clock collaborated with major players from the kwaito and hip hop scenes like Shugasmax, Junior, Brickz, Collin and Stanley.
His latest offering, Third Tick, features the hit track Ngomso and is doing well on the charts for the young man.
Tickets for the show are pegged at R100.
