South African afro-soul vocalist, Lira, real name Lerato Molapo, comes to Harare on June 7.
The show that is promising to be one of a kind will see the diva giving her Zimbabwean fans a taste of her timeless music.
The upcoming "Lira Concert" organised by Ghetto Fabulous will be the second appearance of the multi-platinum selling artiste since March 2011.
That year, she joined forces with jazz crooners Dudu Manhenga, Selma Mtukudzi, Victor Kunonga, The Cool Crooners among others at the inaugural Jazz Festival dubbed "Jazz under the Stars concert" in Harare.
Lira, on the other hand is also a seven times South African Music Award winner and has been making waves since her debut in music in 2003. She is still riding on the success of her latest album "Return to love" that was released in January 2011.
The album drew together everything that Lira has worked for from the time she emerged on the music scene. Other albums in her name include "Soul in mind", "Feel good" and "All My Love" and her record, "Live in Concert", a celebration DVD has seen her touring different parts of the world.
The name "Lira" translates to "love" in Sesotho and she refers to her music as a fusion of soul, funk and elements of jazz and Africa.
It is left to be seen if her golden voice is going to live up to the billing like she has done before.
Of late she has been facing stiff competition in the form of new comers, Zahara (Bulelwa Mtukukana) who has emerged from to be a force to be reckoned with in the South African music industry. Zahara who has graced the country twice has managed to record a full house, mesmerising crowds in both her shows.
"I have big dreams," Lira has frequently been quoted saying. She has made no secret of her desire to have a global audience for her music. She has been able to see that dream come true.
