Sungura musician, Alick Macheso will release his new album titled 'Tsoka Dzerwendo,' on the 21st of this month with half of the proceeds set to be channelled towards charity.
Briefing the media in Harare today, the Zimbabwe Red Cross Society (ZRCS) ambassador, Macheso, said after release on 21 March, his album will be officially launched on Thursday the 24th of March, marking the beginning of the countdown to the much anticipated offering.
Macheso said the CD will be sold for a dollar only and half of the proceeds will be channelled towards charity.
"Some children are surviving on wild fruits and water, and now the wells are drying up as well," said Macheso.
Nash Paints representative, Evans Masvaike said as part of making Macheso's music affordable they have reduced the cost of the CD.
"We want to fight piracy by selling the CD at US$1. We encourage listeners to buy the original disc and support both the musician and his charity work," he said.
ZRCS representative, Morris Machawira said all the red cross offices and Nash Paints offices countrywide will be used as selling points for machismo's latest offering.
As part of the preparations for the launch, Macheso is currently involved in the tour of different areas sampling some selected hits from the album.
