RADIO personality Tinopona "Tin Tin" Katsande is reportedly set to bounce back at ZiFM Stereo as the radio station makes a whole raft of changes to its programming.
According to sources, Tin Tin, who was fired from ZiFM three years ago after a indicent tape in which she featured was leaked and went viral on social media, is expected to report for duty this month.
This is after Tin Tin, who took legal action against ZiFM, allegedly told the station's management that she would drop the case, only if she gets her job back.
The station is said to have agreed and is now in talks with her amid indications that she will be getting her Ignition Breakfast show slot back. She will be reunited with fellow presenter, Tonderai Katsande who has been presenting with MisRed for the past three years.
Two years ago, an arbitrator ruled that ZiFM should reinstate Tin Tin because she was unfairly dismissed. However, the radio station appealed the decision. ZiFM programmes manager Ruvheneko Parirenyatwa, however, denied that they were rehiring Tin Tin.
"Tin Tin isn't confirmed with anything, she's not employed by ZiFM at all right now," Parirenyatwa said. She said the station was in the process of changing its programming. "We'll soon be releasing a new programme line up as a lot of shows are changing."
But before informing the public on the programme changes, Parirenyatwa said ZiFM management needed to first meet its employees to tell them of the programme and presenter changes. "We haven't spoken to any presenter to tell them that their shows have been cancelled or changed to a different slot."
Sources, however, said MisRed had since been relieved of her Ignition Breakfast show slot to pave way for Tin Tin. She has apparently replaced Lady K on The Weekend Breakfast show on Saturdays from 6AM to 10AM. Lady K on the other hand has reportedly been taken back to the ZiSquad where she will be specialising in the station's activations.
This past Saturday, MisRed was heard presenting on the Weekend Breakfast show. Other programmes which are set to have changes are Kimble Rogers — The Rush (2-6PM weekdays), DJ Munya's ZiWorld Chart Show (Saturdays 10AM — 2PM), MC Chita and Sinyorita's The Fixx (Fridays 9PM till Midnight) and Samantha Rusare's Get Lifted (Sundays 6-10AM).
Programme changes have already been effected on the unpopular Dan and Lo's Off the Wall which has since been replaced by Saturday's Zi-Dancehall (from 2PM to 6PM). Gibson Ncube, who is now with Star FM, had Dan taking over the Zi Saturday experience. DJ Munya is said to have replaced Kimble Rogers on the 3PM to 6PM Drive Time slot.
Parirenyatwa said the changes had been triggered by a research on the performance of ZiFM's different departments such as sales, marketing and technical.
