Remember this name: Carl Joshua Ncube!  Zimbabwe's most exciting new find in stand up comedy will begin his first ever world tour "Carl Joshua Ncube's BIG ANNOUNCEMENT on May 12 2011.

Hot on the heels of a sold out National tour, this ground-breaking, hugely anticipated first-of-its-kind journey, will see the Bulawayo born son take Brand Zimbabwe through to 37 different cities around the world. Kick-starting in the city of his birth on May 12, he returns to Harare with a final show on August 26. In between, a host of special events are scheduled for Botswana, Zambia, Nigeria, UK, France, Australia, China and the United States to name but a few.

"I literally can't wait! To be in the position of being able to share parts of Zim culture through comedy is a blessing to me. There is an exciting scene of talented young people currently giving a different perspective of this country and I am honoured to be a part of it."

Indeed US News Agency - CNN came across Ncube, when footage of his popular shows were posted onto YouTube via his website.  He was subsequently invited to South Africa to film for the popular African Voices segment, a weekly show that highlights Africa's most engaging personalities.  The clip is due to air during the tour.  

Behind the comedy, Ncube continues to push boundaries.  In 2002, he produced Zimbabwe's first reality based talent search competition.  The 19 episodes were aired on ZBC. Fast forward to present day and Ncube is awarded with being the first person to produce live graphics in the country (Zimbabwe Music Awards).  He also produced and directed the first ever 2D animation cartoon - Nyaminyami - unveiled at the Zimbabwe International Film Festival, and the National Arts Merits Awards, which set him up as one of the country's most sought after Live television producers.  

In addition to attracting media interest, Ncube is a firm favourite amongst the Zimbabwean arts scene both at home and abroad.  The likes of Big Brother Africa favourite Munya, mbria princess Chiwoniso, R&B duo Bkay & Kazz, afro-jazz artist Victor Kunonga, Australian based model √¢‚Ǩ‚Äú Teurai Chanakira and award-winning dancehall ambassador Jusa Dementor have all taken to social networking sites to confirm their support.  UK based singer/songwriter - Cynthia Mare told African magazine - FAB (fabulous.african.black) in a recent interview, "I've been following Carl on twitter/facebook and I'm so proud of his efforts in putting Zimbabwe on the map. I can't wait for the show to come to London".
