  • Law Society of Zimbabwe has deregistered 11 lawyers

    The Law Society of Zimbabwe (LSZ) has deregistered 11 lawyers who were convicted of theft of trust property and other malpractices.


    Besides those deregistered, more than eight others have pending disciplinary hearings at the High Court.



    LSZ president Mrs Vimbai Nyemba says the organisation will continue to punish errant lawyers who bring the profession into disrepute

  • Zimbabwe 2016 Rio Olympic Games team unveiled

    The Zimbabwe team to the 2016 Rio Olympic Games was on Wednesday evening unveiled during a fundraising dinner gala at a local hotel in the capital.



    The Rio 2016 team is biggest in Zimbabwe's history comprising 57 members of which 31 are athletes and 26 officials.

  • Court postpones Wicknell Chivayo hearing

    The Supreme Court of appeal has ordered the Registrar of the court to reconstruct the record of young businessman Wicknell Chivayo who is appealing against his 2005 conviction and sentence.



    The court postponed the hearing of Chivayo who is challenging his conviction following an application by the prosecution.
