Latest Zimbabwe sanctions list
17 Feb 2012 at 13:07hrs | Views
The European Union on Friday de-listed 51 Zimbabweans, 20 companies from the much hated sanctions list but President Robert Mugabe would celebrate his 88th birthday under the sanctions yoke.
However, the list include two dead Zanu PF members retired general, Solomon Mujuru and former Harare governor David Karimanzira.
Mugabe insists the sanctions are illegal and blames the country's economic collapse on the restrictions.
Notable names struck off are that of Justice Minister Patrick Chinamasa and Foreign Minister Simbarashe Mumbengegwi, former Information Minister Sikhanyiso Ndlovu, former Midlands governor July Moyo, Jocelyn Chiwenga, Tshinga Dube, George Chiweshe, Herbert Nkala, filthy rich businessmen Conrad Muller Rautenbach and John Arnold Bredenkamp.
The rest are lightweights.
The six state media journalists are Caesar Zvayi and Munyaradzi Huni, Pikirayi Deketeke, Reuben Barwe, Judith Makwanya, freelancer Musorowegomo Mukosi.
The companies are not well known.
