MDC-T deputy leader Thokozani Khupe is in trouble with her boss, Morgan Tsvangirai as she is accused of misleading him over a prayer meeting in Bulawayo two weeks ago.
Khupe is understood to have told Tsvangirai that she would mobilise a capacity crowd at Barbourfields Stadium on May 19 but just less than 2000 people attended.
"Tsvangirai was not happy about the poor attendance and asked for an explanation from Khupe who was tongue tied as her assurance had flopped," sources said.
Initially organises had opted for a much smaller venue, White City stadium which has a capacity of about 8 000 unlike Barboufields which can accommodate about 30 000.
Tsvangirai is said to have fumed that he was taken for a ride by his deputy who is also under fire from her Makokoba constituency.
Also in May, Khupe abandoned a rally in Makokoba and went to Nkayi to address a rally.
She is said to be planning to ditch Bulawayo for Nkayi.
