A Bulawayo man who allegedly stole documents of his late father's estate and threatened to kill his mother when she confronted him over the matter, has been remanded in custody to next Thursday.
Ndojelana Dube (33) of Warringham was not asked to plead to threats of violence and theft when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Shepherd Mjanja last Friday.
Public prosecutor Masimba Saruwaka told the court that on July 31 at around 11pm, Ndojelana's mother Joyce Dube was at home when she discovered that her wardrobe had been vandalised.
She later realised that her marriage certificate, title deeds for a plot, valuation books, her husband's death certificate and a firearm certificate had been stolen.
After discovering the theft she suspected Ndojelana.
She allegedly confronted Ndojelana accusing him of theft. He, however, denied the charge and threatened to kill her over the accusations.
Fearing for her life, the woman reported the matter to the police, leading to Ndojelana's arrest.
Nothing has been recovered yet.
