A forty-year-old man from Bulawayo's Hillside suburb has been arraigned before the courts for allegedly inserting his fingers in the privates of a three-year-old female child.
Henry Donavan Taylor last week Friday appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Gladmore Mushove facing charges of aggravated indecent assault.
Taylor was not asked to plead and was remanded out of custody on $150 bail. He will return to court on October 10.
Magistrate Mushove referred the case to the regional court where the matter is set to be heard.
According to State papers, the complainants' mother is the maid of the accused's sister.
It is the State's case that on October 1 at around 10pm in Hillside the complainant who cannot be named due to her age woke up from bed and told her mother that she wanted to urinate. The mother took the complainant to the toilet but when she sat on the toilet seat she could not urinate.
When the mother quizzed her, she started complaining of private parts pains.
After being quizzed further, she indicated that Taylor whom she identified as Malume had put his fingers inside her private parts in the afternoon while she was seated on the sofa, the court heard.
The following morning, the complainant's mother informed her employer only identified as C Wilson about the case.
Wilson reportedly advised the complainant's mother to visit the hospital where a medical examination took place.
The doctor then advised the mother to file a police report since it was a serious case.
This led to Taylor's arrest.
