Bulawayo police are still hunting for suspects behind the gruesome murder of a man and woman in Nkulumane last week.

The two bodies were found at an advanced state of decomposition in a storm drain with their hands tied to their backs and throats slit.

Bulawayo acting police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Abednico Ncube said investigations to the matter were still on going.

"Investigations to the murders are still in progress but we have nothing tangible as yet. No arrests have been made so far," Ncube said.

The woman's body was buried at Bulawayo's West Park Cemetery at the weekend while that of the male was only identified this week but his body is yet to be claimed by relatives.

"The woman Nokukhanya Ncube, 23, from Nkulumane, was identified by her family and has since been buried," Ncube said.

"The man Mthabisi Dube from Esigodini was identified by his friends but his next of kin are yet to come forward."

Police have called on members of the public with information that might lead to the arrest of the murder culprits to report at any nearest police station.

Nkulumane has since the release of criminals through President Robert Mugabe's pardon been terrorised by robbers.

A number of residents have been stabbed while another was struck with an axe by the criminals.
