A 30-YEAR-OLD woman from Njube suburb allegedly grabbed her husband's manhood and tugged hard as if to pull it off after she saw a WhatsApp message on his phone from someone she suspected was his lover.
It is alleged that the husband, Mhlonipheni Masuku, received a message on his phone, which his wife, Tina Mabhena, read first.
Mabhena then confronted her husband about the message, but the husband was evasive and tried to run away.
This came to light when Mabhena appeared before Western Commonage provincial magistrate Willard Mafios Moyo, where she was charged for violating Section 3 (1) of the Domestic Violence Act.
She, however, denied the charges and is set to appear today for plea recording.
Mabhena said she did not remember pulling her husband's private parts, although she conceded they had a misunderstanding over a message which she saw on his mobile phone.
"I only blocked his way as he tried to run away from the matter and I asked him about the affair, which he did not want to talk about," she said.
"I do know what he is talking about when he says I pulled his manhood and chocked him."
Prosecutor Mufaro Mageza told the court that on that fateful morning, the wife read a message from an unknown number and waited for her husband to finish what he was doing, so they could discuss the text.
Mabhena at around 7am confronted Khumalo and asked him about the message.
Panicking over the question, Khumalo stood still and said nothing until he decided to escape the scene, before his wife forcefully blocked his way and demanded that he explain himself.
Khumalo told the court that she immediately grabbed him by his manhood pulling him into the house before strangling him.
"She held me by my manhood, saying she would pull them out if I did not tell her about the message which she saw on my mobile," he said.
"As she was squeezing me she chocked me on the neck and I could not breathe."
The two are said to have been staying together for quite a long time and have four children together.
