The Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association (ZELA) a public interest group that works on promoting improved environmental and natural resources governance in Zimbabwe has called for consultants to document issues related to Zimbabwe's governance.
Through an email, ZELA said through one of its projects that seek to strengthen natural resource governance in the country is calling for a consultant that can document issues related to the governance of Community Share Ownership Trust Schemes(CSOTs).
"The consultant is expected to document the experiences of the trustees, project beneficiaries and general community members from the communities where these trusts have been established and to develop a 30- minute documentary highlighting projects that have been done by the CSOTs and capture voices on the challenges and potential of the CSOTs as a vehicle for economic empowerment for communities, as well as sharing case studies," said ZELA.
"Given the focus of the project, the documentary should look at the status of governance of these CSOTs and proffer different stakeholders' perspectives on how to promote community participation, transparency and accountability in decision-making and the overall management of the CSOTs."
ZELA said the the consultants will be expected to produce a 30-minute documentary looking at CSOTs and their governance from different perspectives including those of beneficiaries from the communities and outline the key successes and challenges to date.
Qualifications and experience required for the job is to have experience in producing similar documentaries, minimum of 5 years' experience in documentary production and at least three examples of previous productions, experience of conducting participatory field shooting and knowledge of environmental justice and community rights issues will be an added advantage.
Interested candidates can submit their bids detailing their understanding of the documentary, approach and professional fees for developing the documentary (shooting in the field for 4 days) and CVs by the 15th of September 2015 to darlington@zela.org.
