Zimbabwean lands top post at Nigeria's Globacom

Francis Mawindi former Telecel Zimbabwe CEO, has landed a top post at Nigeria's second biggest telecoms operator, Globacom. Mawindi joined Globacom last month as its head of international business.
His appointment at Globacom comes as he was linked to a senior post at NetOne.
Mawindi who is better known home for serving as the Telecel Zimbabwe CEO for nine months.
Globacom Limited (or GLO) is a GLO is a privately owned telecommunications and Nigerian multinational telecommunications company headquartered in Lagos. It currently operates in four countries in West Africa, namely Nigeria, Republic of Benin, Ghana and Côte d'Ivoire.As of June 2009, the company has employed more than 2,500 people worldwide and started operations on 29 August 2003.
GLO built an $800 million high-capacity fibre-optic cable known as Glo-1, a submarine cable from the United Kingdom to Nigeria.
