Assaulted taxi driver wets self

A ROGUE taxi-driver plying the Luveve-City route was yesterday beaten up by passengers to a point of wetting himself.
According to an eye-witness, the driver only known as Bro Mandla was caring passengers from Luveve to town when his car ran out of petrol at Rio Turn in Matshobane.
He (Bro Mandla) sent his conductor to buy the petrol at NOCZIM garage - which is about 300 meters from the scene.
Seeing that they were delaying, some passengers asked for refunds of their transport money and he (the driver) advised them that he had given all the cash he had to his conductor, said the eye-witness.
Infuriated by the driver's language register, one of the passengers slapped him on the face and a fist fight between the two ensured.
"They started fighting and the driver was over-powered, he ran to his car and took a metal bar, that is when other passengers joined in and beat him up till he fell to the ground, nose bleeding.
"At that point, esephansi yikho sibone ukuthi usezichamele, ubesekhala esithi sibambe abantu bazambulala," said the eye-witness.
When Bulawayo24.com correspondent arrived at the scene, the driver was leaving in his white Dolphin with his conductor and no-passengers.
There was also a group of people who were laughing about him wetting himself after the beating.
No police report was made.
