A FAKE prophet was arrested on Saturday on fraud allegations after his driver exposed his tricks.

Madzibaba Starlin, real name Starlin Nhamu of Johane Masowe YeChishanu based in Glen Norah C near Mukuvisi River, is accused of ‘planting' fake goblins and live snakes in people's homes claiming that their relatives are bewitching them.

His driver Norest Brian Muchecheti disclosed this to seven victims after he clashed with Madzibaba for bedding his (Madzibaba Starlin)'s wife.

One of Madzibaba Starlin's victims Alec Gaviro told H-Metro that he lost more than US$200 after Madzibaba removed a baboon leg with charms planted in his house.

"Problems lead us to consult these prophets but I want to thank God for allowing Madzibaba's driver to confess what this fake prophet was doing," said Alec.

"Akabvisa chioko chegudo mumba mangu ndikadyirwa mari zvichinzi hama yangu yakaisa mushonga urikutadzisa kuti zvinhu zvangu zvifambe.

"His driver told me that many people were being duped by Madzibaba and I discovered that he bought harmless live snakes from Snake Park and planted them at one of his victims' home in Southlea Park.

"That man lost his new mobile phone and money and this is so disturbing to learn that people are making these so called goblins and getting live snakes from our parks," said Alec.

Brian confirmed cheating with Madzibaba Starlin's wife and exposed his tricks to fleece money from several people around the country where they visited.

"I was his driver yes and we visited many places with him until I discovered that he was faking miracles," said Brian.

"After such trips, he would end up hooking up with ladies and booking lodges to have sex with them and this led me to get truth from him.

"Many times his wife questioned why we were not returning home on time after the trips and I later disclosed his cheating habits to her.

"Mukadzi wake akanaka saka ndakangoshuvira kudanana naye kuti ndigoziva if she was aware of Madzibaba's fake miracles.

"I felt happy when she seduced me and discovered that she was eager also to fall in love with me since she was sex starved.

"Madzibaba later discovered my illicit affair with his wife and he treated me badly that I was left with no choice other than exposing him to people he duped by performing fake prophecies.

"I have informed a number of people some are far away from Harare and I feel sorry for him if they all discover it because they lost beasts and more money.

"I am not married. I separated with my wife after she cheated with another man and the story was published in H-Metro some years back," said Brian.

Madzibaba Starlin was detained at Glen Norah Police Station and is expected to appear in court today.

Unconfirmed reports were that he recently resigned from a uniformed service to be a full time prophet.
