Policeman cuffs and rapes lover's daughter (12)

A Harare 28-year-old pedophile policeman, after watching a porn video, handcuffed his lover's 12-year-old daughter before raping her, a Harare magistrate has heard.

Elvis Madzemwa, based at Matapi Police Station in Harare's Mbare suburb, told the screaming girl she was hallucinating as he raped her, prosecutors said.

He is back in court today for trial.

The 28-year-old is languishing in remand prison after Harare regional magistrate Hosea Mujaya advised him to apply for bail at the High Court because of the severity of the matter.

Prosecutor Kudzai Chigwedere told the court that Madzemwa went to his girlfriend's house at around 7pm on February 4 this year, where he found the girl in the company of her brother.

He asked the two to accompany him to his house after being told his girlfriend was away attending a funeral.

Upon arrival at his house, Madzemwa took the two into his bedroom to watch videos until the two slept.

The court was told that at around midnight, the 12-year-old girl woke up to visit the toilet and on her return to the bedroom noticed that Madzemwa was now watching porn.

According to the state, Madzemwa threatened his girlfriend's daughter with death, produced a set of handcuffs that he used to cuff the girl before raping her.

The girl screamed, according to the state, but was held by Madzemwa who asked her why she was making noise, since she was hallucinating.

The girl later revealed the rape to her mother who reported the matter to the police.
