Government to pursue inclusive approach in nation branding

Government says it will pursue an inclusive approach in the ongoing provincial branding exercise with a view to coming up with a sound brand which enhances the attractiveness of the country and reflects the socio-economic aspirations of the country's citizens.
The Matabeleland North Province branding process stakeholders' meeting held in Victoria Falls saw the participants stressing the need to position the resource-rich province as the preferred destination for capital.
Matabeleland North Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Ambassador Cain Mathema who highlighted the importance of the private sector in the on-going exercise said government will pursue an inclusive approach in the branding campaign.
"Working together as private sector and government we can unlock the potential of this resource-rich province.Ii would like to assure you that we will pursue an inclusive approach as we implement this branding exercise," he said.
The Matabeleland North provincial sub-committee media and publicity is currently finalising the production of a promotional video, website development and printing of brochures.
Stakeholders who graced the one day meeting called for the sprucing up of key enablers and pursuing ease of doing business reforms.
Victoria Falls Municipality town clerk Mr Ronnie Dube said the local authority is currently implementing measures to promote business in line with the national vision of enhancing the attractiveness of the country.
"As a municipality we have already started putting in place measures to promote business and to remove all the bottlenecks which may hinder investments," said Mr Dube.
The branding campaigns are among other things aimed at attracting tourists, facilitating trade and foreign direct investment.
