Zuma gives Zimbabwe GPA negotiators timeline

South African President Jacob Zuma's facilitation team, which is in the country, has held talks with the negotiators in the Global Political Agreement (GPA).

During the talks held in Harare this Monday, it was agreed that the negotiators should iron out all the outstanding issues which include the constitution making process, implementations mechanism, and time lines as laid out by the SADC Troika Summit held in Angola recently.

Speaking to reporters, one of the negotiators, Mr Tendai Biti of MDC-T said the negotiators will start holding meetings to resolve these issues starting this coming Sunday up to Wednesday next week after which they will report to their respective principals.

He said the meeting also set the 25th of this month as the day the negotiators should report back areas of agreement and disagreement to President Zuma's facilitation team.

At the meeting, Zanu-PF was represented by Nicholas Goche and Emerson Mnangagwa, while Ms Priscilla Misihairambwi-Mushonga and Mr Moses Mzila Ndlovu represented the MDC.

MDC-T was represented by Mr Tendai Biti and Mr Jameson Timba.

President Zuma's facilitation team comprised Mr Mac Maharaj and Mr Charles Nqakula.
