WE have seen a boom of prophets who use spiritual hangers, padlock, spectacles, anointing oil and handkerchiefs that are believed to have powers to heal different ailments and restore broken marriages.

Wonder no more, a new breed has entered the scene with gusto, with his unique way of "remotely" healing the sick and the method is apparently threatening to overshadow his "fellow workers in God's vineyard".

A Victoria Falls-based prophet, Musawenkosi Vundla, who calls himself Vundla Thwasa Lodumo is attracting massive crowds through his seemingly novel way of healing his clients suffering from various ailments including cancer, hypertension, stomach problems, sexually transmitted infections, bad dreams, barrenness, unemployment and failure to prosper in life.

Vundla is using social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook to heal, deliver and transform people's lives. He is perhaps the first prophet in the country to utilise social media platforms to heal his clients locally and internationally.

Unlike his peers who charge for one-on-one sessions or demand exorbitant fees for an audience with them, with Vundla one can just send his or her name and surname or picture via WhatsApp and he uses the information to establish their problems and subsequently heal them.

Narrating in an interview with B-Metro, his inexplicable way of healing, Vundla who operates from Chinotimba suburb and at times from his rural home in Sizinda Village which is about 15km from the resort town said he started healing his clients using the "invisible remote" in 2014.

"While some people use social media platforms to have conversations, share information and send falsehoods and insults for me it's a conduit for healing my clients. As a messenger of God's work, I use social media platforms such as WhatsApp and Facebook to reach and heal my clients especially those who are outside Victoria Falls and overseas.

"One can just send his or her name and surname or picture via WhatsApp and I use that information to instantly establish their ailments. After that I explain the findings to them before I prescribe the solution.

"Since there are some clients who prefer a semblance of privacy and confidentiality, I use WhatsApp for consultation and Facebook to do live prophecy and linking up with clients," said Vundla who is registered as a prophet through the Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe.

Vundla said unlike his peers who went digital after the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, he started attending to clients via WhatsApp before the outbreak of the pandemic after he considered the distance that they have to travel for consultation.

For Vundla, God seemed to have favoured his invisible way of healing as he now attracts clients from across the globe.

"In the Bible Jesus used different methods to heal and draw many people and as for me the use of social media platforms has also worked wonders as I now have clients all over the world. I always make sure that I have enough data so that I would be reachable to these clients all the time," he said.

For those outside Victoria Falls and overseas, Vundla said he sends their herbs and anointments via courier services.

"I don't charge my clients; I treat them free of charge and I only ask them (clients) to contribute towards transport fares so that I will manage to travel to get them their treatment. I have several testimonies of people who have been healed from one form of disease or other, others who state that they are now employed, wealthy, and prosperous," he said.

On businesspeople, celebrities and politicians who are seeking promises of prosperity and life-changing spiritual experiences, Vundla confirmed that indeed there were a number of them who had and were still consulting him via WhatsApp so that they become powerful and successful in their line of work.
