Senator Sengezo Tshabangu, the leader of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) in Parliament, has returned to the Senate with words of praise for President Emmerson Mnangagwa, Vice President Constantino Chiwenga, and Parliament, following his recent hospitalization in Geneva, Switzerland.
Tshabangu, who had been receiving medical treatment abroad, took the opportunity during his return to acknowledge the support extended to him by Zimbabwe's leadership during his health ordeal. He expressed his gratitude for the government's care and for the role Parliament had played in ensuring his swift recovery.
"I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to President Mnangagwa, Vice President Chiwenga, and the entire Parliament for their unwavering support during my time of illness," Tshabangu remarked. "The care I received, and the messages of encouragement from both the leadership and my colleagues in Parliament, were incredibly uplifting."
His comments come at a time when political tensions remain high in Zimbabwe, with his remarks offering a rare moment of cross-party goodwill. Tshabangu's return to the Senate marks a continuation of his commitment to representing his constituents and his party, the CCC, in the national legislature.
