Bulawayo police have apprehended five individuals linked to a string of armed robberies targeting families and business premises in and around the city. The suspects were operating primarily in Cowdray Park and were armed with two pistols during their heists.

The arrested suspects have been identified as Nkosiyazi Nyathi (20), Vusumuzi Ncube (22), Mgcini Sibanda (24), Mlungisi Ndlovu (41) and Nkosiyazi Moyo (27).

Authorities have launched a manhunt for Alex Nyathi, also known as Samduduzi, who is believed to be the sixth member of the gang and remains at large.

Law enforcement officials recovered one pistol from the suspects during the arrests. Investigations suggest that the gang committed multiple armed robberies in the area, using the pistols to intimidate their victims and carry out their crimes.

The Zimbabwe Republic Police has appealed to the public for information that could lead to the capture of Alex Nyathi. Residents are urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to their nearest police station.

This crackdown comes amid increased efforts by law enforcement to combat rising armed robbery cases in urban areas. Police continue to investigate the extent of the gang's activities and whether they are linked to other crimes in the region.

Anyone with information about Alex Nyathi's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Bulawayo Police or call the national crime hotline.
