Yadah FC executive member Spencer Muvadi has been fined US$4,000 for assaulting the club's goalkeeper, Goodknows Gurure, during a heated incident on August 22 following a Premier Soccer League (PSL) match against Ngezi Platinum at Heart Stadium.
The disciplinary action was confirmed this week by a PSL committee, which also imposed a 12-month ban on Muvadi from all football-related business.
"Mr Muvadi was found guilty of breaching the PSL Rules and Regulations and the Committee has imposed a fine of US$4000 together with costs of the hearing," PSL communications and media officer Kudzai Bare said in a statement.
The ban prohibits Muvadi from conducting football business for Yadah or any other PSL club, holding any official position, or attending matches under the league's jurisdiction until September 2026.
Yadah FC itself was not spared, with the club found guilty of breaching PSL regulations. "Yadah FC were also found guilty of contravening the PSL Rules and Regulations and were fined a sum of US$5,000 together with the costs of the hearing, which must be paid within 15 days from the date of judgment," Bare added.
The PSL emphasised that the punishment was meant to preserve the integrity of the game and protect participants. "The League reiterates its commitment to upholding discipline, protecting the integrity of the game and promoting a safe and professional environment for all participants," the statement concluded.
