Destiny of Africa Network (DANet) founder Reverend Dr Obediah Musindo has condemned the public criticism of prominent ZANU-PF-aligned philanthropists, including Kudakwashe Tagwirei, Scott Sakupwanya, Paul Tungwarara, and Sir Wicknell Chivhayo. Musindo praised their contributions to the ruling party and broader society, describing them as transformative and deserving of recognition.
Addressing DANet affiliate church leaders and over 200 staff members over the weekend, Musindo said the philanthropists had uplifted ZANU-PF structures, affiliates, and ordinary citizens through donations and empowerment initiatives.
"Let us stop demonising philanthropists who are transforming the revolutionary party, its membership, and communities once trapped in poverty," Musindo said. He added that while many businesspeople had benefited from government tenders, few had given back to the institutions that empowered them.
Musindo cited donations made to ZANU-PF's Central Committee, politburo, and provincial structures, likening the empowerment model to Chinese political administration. He warned against internal sabotage, accusing some party members of pretending to support ZANU-PF while undermining it from within.
He also defended the party's role in enabling freedom of worship, promoting indigenous entrepreneurship, and facilitating ease of doing business.
"As the genuine church community, we condemn all forces - internal and external - that seek to derail Vision 2030 under President Emmerson Mnangagwa's leadership," Musindo declared.
He urged unity within ZANU-PF and government ranks to ensure the successful implementation of Vision 2030, which he described as a national imperative.
