KANYEMBA - Renowned traditional healer Sekuru Nyangatayani, born Peter Chinguzi, stole the spotlight at the Kanyemba Border Post during a New Year's entertainment gig that drew crowds from Zimbabwe, Zambia and Mozambique.

The Glendale‑based healer, popularly known in the arts sector as "Joy Master" for his generosity towards musicians, received a hero's welcome when he arrived at the event, which featured a Zambian artiste and Zimbabwean comedian Lylod Jack, widely known as Matumbu.

Introduced on stage by Gas Gee, Sekuru Nyangatayani was met by cheering crowds and responded in his signature fashion - handing out US$100 notes to every performing musician.

Speaking to this publication, he said his visit was meant to promote unity among the three neighbouring nations.

"I came here to show you that we are one regardless of different nationalities. As a music lover, I wanted to meet people from the three different countries," he said.

Gas Gee, who previously performed in Glendale at Nyangatayani's invitation during the Heroes Day holiday, expressed gratitude for the healer's continued support.

"The visit by Sekuru Nyangatayani here in Kanyemba shows his passion for music. We are very grateful for his support, both financially and physically," Gas Gee said.

Comedian Matumbu thrilled fans with his performance, while Sekuru Nyangatayani's own dance group also took to the stage, adding to the festive atmosphere.
