Chiwere Secondary School headmaster Tizai Gwazhi (49) has recovered the school's 2025 Ordinary Level results after they were stolen during a violent robbery in Dangamvura, Manicaland.

The robbery occurred on Monday evening when Gwazhi, returning from Mutare after collecting the results from ZIMSEC, was attacked near ZAOGA Church in Area 3. Two assailants snatched his satchel containing the results slips, cash book, fees application forms, an Infinix cellphone, and other school documents. The total value of the stolen property was estimated at US$93.

Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, said swift police action led to the arrest of one suspect, MacCthy Tshuma of Gimboki South, who directed authorities to the stolen items. The results and other documents were recovered from a rubbish bin at House Number 35, Area 3, where Tshuma and an accomplice, only known as Maradona, had dumped them.

Chinyoka provided details of the incident: "Gwazhi had collected the results around midday and later attended a workshop in Mutare. On his way to Dangamvura, he was forced to walk to Area 16 after the commuter omnibus missed his stop. At ZAOGA Church, he was tripped and overpowered by two men who stole his satchel."

Gwazhi, who spent the night at the church after the attack, reported the matter to Dangamvura Police Station the following morning. Police praised the tip-off that led to Tshuma's arrest and the subsequent recovery of the stolen property, which included critical school documents necessary for the evaluation of the 2025 O-Level results.

Authorities have urged the public to remain vigilant and report criminal activities promptly to assist in swift recovery and prosecution of offenders.
