Female cop bashed by boyfriend

A female cop who expected to spend quality time at a Harare lodge was bruised after receiving a thorough bashing from her boyfriend, a magistrate has heard.
Mercy Pomo, 28, was allegedly beaten up by her 37-year-old boyfriend Hillary Kumbirayi Nyambiya after a dispute erupted between the two.
The court heard that the two lovebirds went to the lodge early last month but it all ended nasty when, at night, they started quarrelling before Nyambiya assaulted the cop.
Magistrate Anita Tshuma, who is presiding over the case, heard that Pomo suffered serious injuries from the assault.
Nyambiya was arrested after Pomo reported the matter to her workmates.
He is out on $30 bail and returns to court for trial tomorrow
