WELCOME ABOARD: Samuel Sipepa Nkomo welcomes Albert Mhlanga who defected to MDC Renewal.
TWO BULAWAYO members of parliament who dumped MDC-T on Monday have been fast-tracked into the MDC Renewal National Working Committee (NWC).
At a hastily arranged press conference at Samuel Sipepa Nkomo's residence on Monday, former MDC-T provincial Organising Secretary and Member of Parliament for Pumula Albert Mhlanga and Gladys Mathe were unveiled as new members.
Their incorporation happened on Thursday in Harare.
"During today's (Thursday) meeting the NWC also welcomed Hon. Albert Mhlanga, the MP for Pumula, Hon. Gladys Mathe, a Bulawayo provincial proportional representative MP, former Bulawayo Deputy Mayor, Amen Mpofu and hundreds of members from Bulawayo's districts structures who joined the Renewal Team on Monday.
"Hon. Mhlanga and Hon. Mathe attended today's meeting and automatically become members of the NWC," said Jacob Mafume, the Renewal's National Spokesperson.
Mafume said NWC also raised serious concerns over the current deteriorating economic and political situation in the country and said the country was now in the intensive care unit manned by incompetent and clueless doctors.
‘The state of economic recession, the paralysis in government and the fratricide in Zanu PF are leading to entrenched fascism and dictatorship. The economy is hemorrhaging at an alarming rate," he added.
The NWC urged the nation to adopt the proposed MDC Renewal Team's 16 Point Plan to deal with the economy as a matter of urgency.
