Former Vice President Joice Mujuru ally Obert Mundevere Ncube has posted President Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF have kept themselves in power through acts of violence and abductions of opposition members.

"This is how Mugabe and his friends have kept themselves in positions abducting activists, members of the opposition brutalised, all voices silenced and anyone challenging them is either arrested like Morgan Tsvangirai, now they are on a widow, because she is so powerful, they think they have the capabilities to abuse her," he posted.

"Corruption in Zimbabwe starts from the top. The president and his wife and security personnel and cousins, friends, cabinet and all lizards bearing a Zanu DNA. I have a feeling they need to be sabotaged from computers to communication to properties they own."

He said on condition  of  anonymity, a Zanu PF source said President Mugabe and his anti-Mujuru backers felt the former VP still posed a threat to their bid to retain control of Zanu PF, adding the plot to stick corruption charges against her were meant to totally destroy her once promising political career.

"The feeling is that Mujuru was so powerful within the party and still has a lot of sympathisers who could turn the tables against Mugabe in the long run," said the source.

"So all this is a way of finishing her off. With strong criminal case hanging over her head, and possible jail looming, it would be difficult for her to re-launch her."

Tafadzwa Marufu Marinda questioned why Zimbabweans were fond of keeping on  recycling old failed leadership while Zimbabwe is full of untamed young leadership.

"The victim was fired by a corrupt and incompetent leader for corruption and incompetence. Its fun that Mugabe chased her for corruption and who among reasonable Zimbabweans will retake corruption to office when our nation is wriggling because of corruption," he said.
