A political commentator Godknows Mashaire has questioned the belief that has many Zimbabweans that the departure of President Robert Mugabe from the helm would be the solution to Zimbabwe's problems indicating that people still do not understand Zimbabwe's politics.
"Somebody has suggested that we should stop talking about African Unity and Black Consciousness until we first solve "urgent bread and butter issues Zimbabwe?" he asked.
"Fair enough you think Mugabe and Zanu-PF gone today is a solution to all problem n the country. I don't think you understand Zimbabwe very well, you are thinking deep enough for long term solutions."
He asked as to why is Mugabe has not gone 35 years after independence?
"Is it not because you are want to put him in jail and kill his family like Gadaffi and Lauret Gabgo. Would you leave power if you were in that scenario? Probably not, you would anything to protect your family," he said.
"Why do you want Mugabe jailed? Because of Gukurahundi maybe? Why did Gukurahundi happen? Because of lack of unity, especially among black people, probably."
Mashaire said so people think unity is a solution to the problems in Zimbabwe?
"If we were united enough why would we be killing each other and failing to uphold our institutions and processes?" he said.
