A political commentator Tafadzwa Chinheyaā€ˇ has rapped the government for failing to take care of its civil servants.
He said other countries take care of their civil servants and prisoners.
"You can see by their dressing, food and education whilst one is in prison. To be a prisoner does not mean one should be treated inhumanly like what is happening in Zimbabwean prisons," he said.
"One meal a day, torn uniform,no mattress to sleep on and even brutalisation by the warders.Patrick Chinamasa 3 years ago once said prison should not be a cosy place. He made such a statement in response to criticism about the deterioration of Zimbabwe's prisons."
He said he used to go to a certain prison for preaching. In that prison the inmates felt like home for they eat 3 meals a day, right to watch TV till 23:00 pm,right to radio and right to even receive food from lived ones.
"Its called correctional services. Its where one corrects himself and change his ways.In Zimbabwe a prisoner is a victim of all sorts of torture. Not all the people who are in prison have committed crimes they were charged for," he said.
"Its tax payers money that should take care of all these departments where is it going."
