A Zanu PF official, Singlawyer Mushunje claims he can no longer perform in bed after his alleged torture by MDC activists. Mushunje stripped in court yesterday to prove how his manhood was badly damaged.
Mushunje, the Zanu PF Epworth district chairman, removed his trousers and only stopped halfway following prosecutor Michael Reza's intervention.
But this was not before he had exposed a red pair of underwear, much to the amusement of court officials and people in the public gallery.
"I want to show the court how seriously I was injured. I am no longer able to perform well in bed," said Mushunje, donning a cheap khaki suit, a green shirt, and a floral necktie.
Magistrate Morgan Nemadire was forced to ask police to escort a man and woman out of the court who failed to contain the spectacle and made noises.
Mushunje was testifying in a case involving Alabi Billiat, who is facing charges of kidnapping, theft and assault.
Billiat, 23, who is an MDC chairman for Epworth District, allegedly assaulted Mushunje at his residence upon his arrival from Zambia in May last year.
Billiat, the court heard, was in the company of seven other men when they allegedly stormed Mushunje's residence and assaulted him with fists and logs after accusing him of causing their assaults in 2008.
The gang is alleged to have carried Mushunje to Ruwa River, where they continued assaulting him and tied his testicles with an electric cable.
They returned him home and dumped him in a toilet before leaving after stealing $680 and 2 200 000 Zambian Kwacha from him.
Billiat denied the charges, saying he was in Mutare during the material time.
